he asked, dully, getting the inkling that he might come to regret taking this trip with the older student. Almost absently he took a quick peak around the mall. Pretty standard, though... Huzzah... Sheba thought, lips twitching as though he were trying to stop from grinning. Escalator. Score. Didn't have one o' those, back home...He had to fight the urge to immediately go over and run up the 'down' escalator.[/ul] (Great fun. Great kid.)

he thought, once more complaining mentally that they were almost the same age. And boy, do I WISH I was meeting someone else here. She's almost as flaky as Mom.His mom had a much better personality though. Perhaps Noel had ADD? With this thought in mind, the boy smiled slightly, then walk over to the escalator as well, looking up to see Noel reaching the top. Distance was good. She had less of a chance of irritating him, this way.[/ul]

Finally she reached the end of the hall. Down the escalator. When she reached the bottom she was in view of the Fountain. She looked up once more to see if Sheba was following, and ran over to greet her friends. [/ul]

cried a girl with curly black hair who was holding hands with a boy who's brown hair was spiked up with gel. The shrill tones made Sheba flinch as he came up. The girl's eyes grew wide when she noticed him. "Omigosh, Noe (No, not Noel.), I HEARD you n' Jason broke up! Is this your new boyfriend?"The other boy--the one with spiky hair--moved forward, putting on a, 'what have you gotten yourself into smile'. "Hey. I'm Kyle, and this is my girlfriend Jenna."Scrunching up his nose in disgust, Sheba first iterated, "Ew," in response to this 'Jenna's comment. Then, first glancing at the other boy's hand then back at his face, the blonde deadpanned, "Hi, I'm bi."The reaction was almost immediate. Kyle's grin slid off and his position shifted ever so slightly--as if he was trying to get away but protect his girl as well. Jenna's wide eyes grew even wider as she gasped softly, then glanced at Noel with a 'is this kid for real' expression.[/ul] (Added some NPCs. XP And I couldn't remember her boyfriend's name, but I THINK it was Jason. So heh.)

she exclaimed. Her smile immediately disappeared as Jenna continued. She was appalled. "No! He's NOT my boyfriend!" she said a little louder than she probably should have. She glanced at Sheba, wrinkled her nose to make the point, then said, "This is Sheba. I'm going out with someone ELSE."Then Noel turned to Kyle. "Hi," she said, a little happier. She ignored the "Ew." from Sheba, then turned to stare at him, wide eyed, as he said something else. Her jaw dropped. "What.. the.. hell.." Noel was appalled even more. What kind of freak WAS this? Going to a GIRL'S academy, being BI? She looked over to Jenna, still wide eyed with her jaw dropped. She remembered the gum she had been chewing and closed her mouth, a little embarrassed about them seeing it. A LITTLE??? She was embarrassed about being with this KID that was BI. She sighed and shook her head. "What are ya gonna do? He goes to my academy, and it looked like he needed to get out. Now I can see why..." She shrugged. "So, I texted Sean. He should be here soon..." She looked around her friends, hoping to see him. It would be fun to spend their first afternoon together as boyfriend and girlfriend. [/ul][/ul]

At a reproachful stare from her boyfriend, she giggled and continued, "Not as great as Kyle of course, but whatevs, right?"The blonde rolled his eyes, glancing about the area. He could see a few of Noel's friends quickly flicking their gaze away from him--just a normal day, he supposed. Hmm, Sheba mused sourly. I'm actually missing Sketch. Least people weren't closeminded there... After a period of mental silence, he added, Except for Cid's gang and...a few of the parents. But nothing's perfect.[/ul] (GANGS. I like Cid and his gang...even though I HATE THEM. With a PASSION. Because...they like to beat up Dagger. But not Sheba, 'cuz Dagger would never let that happen~)

She was inturrupted from her thoughts by seeing the familiar face of Sean. He was pushing his way through other groups of teenagers, on his way to the closest part of the Fountain. She waved with a big smile.[/ul][/ul] he said to Noel, then looked at Jenna and Kyle. Another couple among dozens. He waved with a smile and said, "Hi."[/ul][/ul]

Jenna squealed, hand waving spasmodically in greeting. After a slight nudge, her boyfriend gave a less enthusiastic, but no less friendly 'hello'. The black-haired girl grinned before putting on a more serious expression. "You better take care of her, Sean. She's a good one." As quickly as the moment had come, it passed, and she was all smiles once more, wiggling happily as she placed Kyle's arms around her shoulders in a kind of hug. Curious at the sudden commotion, Sheba glanced up to see someone else had arrived--apparently Noel's new boyfriend. Poor bastard doesn't know what he's getting himself into... He smiled weakly, instantly reminded of his own loved ones back home. If only you were here...You make life suck so much less.[/ul]

(XD Gotta sneak in the swears now don't we! XD) she said enthusiastically. "Kip's holding a bowling party at his dad's bowling alley. It's going to be amazing, as it was last year. But he has to text you the date and time, so no one that he doesn't know comes. Or no one that he doesn't want comes. You do... know Kip... right? Otherwise I could put in a good word for you two." She smiled again, her teeth flashing in the light of the skylight three floors above.[/ul][/ul] . That was the only thing that he knew about her that he didn't feel comfortable with. His eyes flicked from face to face, some faces more... interresting to him than others. His eyes finally rested on Sheba. Odd, what is a kid doing here? He supposed he shouldn't ask. [/ul][/ul]

(Hellz yeah I do. I'm Inky.) (Also: HE'S NOT A KID! HE'S ONE YEAR YOUNGER THAN THEM! GOD, HOLLY, HOW MANY TIMES?!)
She sighed, leaning into Kyle a little bit to entice a hug. When she got it, she brightened and continued. "But now I have contacts, sooo, like, my fingers are crossed!"When he was done angsting about his life, Sheba glanced over again--apparently some exclusive party was to take place. He rolled his eyes--such boring things to discuss. But there was something that was bugging him... He took another peek and, sure enough, someone was watching him. Noel's new boyfriend someone. Sheba blinked in mild surprise--there wasn't anything particularly interesting about him that a newcomer should have found and focused on, so why was this 'Sean' staring? He fought the urge to shrug and merely went back to looking out down the mall halls.[/ul]

(Apparently, they don't care. XD) She almost mentioned that she could get Kip to do anything for her, seeing that he "secretly" (it was kinda obvious) liked her. She looked up at Sean, but when she noticed that he was looking at Sheba, she gave him a nudge with her elbow.[/ul][/ul] [/ul]

She left her car in the parking lot taking up two spots because it was in crooked. It had died and she was feeling lazy. Besides, loading a decent stove into it would be interesting enough with enough space.
She forced herself /not/ to think about actually driving back to the school with that hanging out of the trunk.
Pulling her purse sharply on her shoulder, Sunshine stalked toward the large mall. How in the /world/ could those school administrators honestly expect /anyone/ to be able to cook on those wimpy stupid little stoves that were in the dorms? They couldn't! They were just torturing her, she was sure. There was no respectable and logical reason for having stoves like that except to taunt her.
Shoving the door open, she padded into the building and glanced at one of the nearby maps.
Her finger trailed down the listing of shops before a smile lit her face as it stopped on 'Fatboy's Used Appliances.' Okay, across the mall, past some fountain...wait...there was a /fountain/ in this mall? What was WRONG with the people in this immediate vicinity?! Who had a /fountain/ in a /mall/?
"No logical reason! Only gets the floor wet," she muttered to herself as she took off toward the store.
After shoving through the crowd of shoppers, she saw that there was just some random group of girls and guys standing around. She /had/ to get through to get to that appliance store.
And she sure as hell wasn't gonna let some preppy looking snobs stand in the way of her and her delightful new stove that she would be picking out.
Rolling up her sleeves, she delved into the crowd of standing kids and made her way through. Maybe if the last group she had pushed through hadn't been about two feet taller than her...maybe if she'd been watching for the spout of water...maybe...hell, there were so many maybes and only one actual occurrence.
She pushed through the last crowd, which must have been basketballers, only to be confronted by the wall of the fountain immediately in front of her. She tried to stop her brisk pace and momentum, but, as she previously had complained about, her sneakers squeaked ominously on the wet tile floor and as she hit the wall her purse, thankfully, slid off her shoulder to the floor, her top half flipped forward and bottom half decided to go airborne, thus dooming Sunshine to become a very wet girl.
She floundered for a few minutes before managing to come up for air, grabbing the edge of the fountain for dear life.
d**n that was COLD!

Noel's friend had opened her mouth, about to cheerfully reply that this was a splendid idea. Sunshine's pushing aside Kyle to get through had inadvertently pushed her aside as well, and she wrinkled her nose in a mix of irritation and disgust as she watched Sheba go over to aid her. Rolling her eyes, Jenna fixed another dazzling smile on her face. "Whatever, right?"[/ul]

She gave a dainty water-clogged sneeze, ducking her head back under the water to do so. Wouldn't really be a good thing to sneeze on the kid who's actually trying to help you, right?
The only kid. Her eyes flickered around to see that all she got were dirty looks besides the blonde kid.
After she was sure no more sneezes would interrupt her, she took the kid's hand and allowed him to help her out of the fountain. She grimaced at the feeling of soaking clothes and at the sensation of the beads of water running down into her sneakers.
She managed a tiny grin, though it was still mixed with the grimace, as she glanced to the kid and said, "Geez, glad I wasn't wearing a white shirt today." She then turned and sploshed her way to where her purse had elegantly landed and lifted it up carefully, making sure not to get the rest of it wet.
Glancing down at herself, she looked to the kid then, a sheepish look on her face, "Do you happen to know where the nearest clothes store in this godforsaken place is?"
And all she had wanted was a stove. Geez.

the boy muttered, head turning to he could gaze absently at the direction he'd arrived in. Without much other thought, Sheba began wandering away, then belatedly remembered to gesture for the girl to follow. She was soaked, and probably freezing, even if it was a fairly nice day out. He frowned again when he arrived at the store, glancing at the entrance, to the girl, and then back again. "Will they let you in, like that?"[/ul]

She smiled brightly as the boy said he thought there was a place nearby. She was a little confused when he just started walking away. Did that mean he wasn't gonna help her?
Then she smiled brightly again as he gestured for her to follow. Honestly, she felt like a little puppy, following her master with unabounded enthusiasm. Alas, if one could actually be /that/ cute.
He stopped at the entrance and asked her a question. Sunshine blinked at him before looking to the window of the shop. She read aloud, pointing to each article of clothing as she did so, "Shirt, Shoes, no problem!" She grinned over at him before shrugging and giving him a conspiratorial look, "Besides, if they don't, I have pepper spray."
She winked at him then, wondering if he would actually believe her, and then walked into the store, leaving a trail of wet footprints behind her as she went.
