VrrrVrrrVrrr!
The car jolted forward again randomly, as it usually did. All she could really do was hold on for dear life until it started spluttering down the highway at a normal pace. The metal plates that covered the thing seemed to groan with the jerking motion, but they held, as always, and soon she was moving relatively smoothly, well for her car, down the road again.
She'd filled up on gas at the last convenience store she passed, so she knew she'd make it to the academy in one piece.
Sunshine smiled happily at the thought of the school that was waiting for her. The Rosalia Academy for Culinary Arts. What a lovely name for such a lovely place with such a damn lovely area of expertise!
She could almost see the stainless steel kitchen appliances and the wide array of utensils that would be at her disposal. It would be like a dream come true! And her parents had paid for it all!
It was things like that that made her remember they loved her.
Another grin lit her lips at that thought, knowing she really didn't need any more proof than just the everyday, but it was nice to get big gifts like this.
---
She stared at the sign that was in front of her. The road leading up to the beautiful building was enticing to any...except for Sunshine at the moment.
'Rose Academy'
That was /not/ the name of her school and from what the sign said, it did /not/ specialize in what her school did.
A school for young ladies?
She reached over frantically to grab the print offs from MapQuest, holding them close to her face as she scrutinized the driving instructions.
"You've /got/ to be kidding me," she said in quiet disbelief before looking back to the school, a sense of utter dread permeating her frame.
With a sudden acceptance of her now dreary fate, she put the car in gear and slowly spluttered up the drive.
---
She fingered the strap of her purse nervously as she passed into the building, glancing nervously back at her car only once. She could hop in and drive away. Drive back to her parents...
Who had just spent their yearly budget for groceries on this school.
No, she'd just have to live with it. Whatever /it/ was.
With that, she was directed toward the conference room by the nice lady in the lobby, nerves making her knuckles white as they gripped the strap for dear life.
With a deep breath, attempting, and failing, to center herself, she pushed open the door and passed into the conference room.
